Mihajlovic set to replace Arrigoni
Bologna's humiliating reverse in Sardinia yesterday seems to have spelled the end of Daniele Arrigoni's reign in Emilia Romagna and Sinisa Mihajlovic looks poised to take over.
The Felsinei took the lead at the Stadio Sant'Elia through a Marco Di Vaio's effort in the first half, but then succumbed to a flurry of goals from the Cagliaritani who went on to put 5 past hapless goalkeeper Francesco Antonioli.
Tuttosport reports that around 70 fans awaited the arrival of the team from Cagliari at the Marconi Airport and protested against the squad with strong chants.
"Shame on you", they allegedly shouted and then followed the players to the team bus and kept hurling abuse and hitting the windows.
Coach Arrigoni was not present, as he left the airport from a secondary exit as a precautionary measure, and the Turin-based newspaper alleges that president Francesca Menarini will soon announce his dismissal.
The president has imposed a press silence, but it is rumoured that former Lazio and Inter Milano star Mihajlovic will sign his contract tomorrow and be unveiled in the afternoon as the new Felsinei boss.
It would be the first proper coaching job for the Serbian free-kick maestro, who worked as an assistant manager to Roberto Mancini at Inter from 2006 to 2008.
